Hired to reorganize the engineering department. But drafted by the restructure team. Co-authored the restructure plan. Appointed General Manager by the team and bank agent. Restructured: Technical and Manufacturing staff, procedures and facilities. Cut delivery time from 22 to 3 weeks. Reduced rejects from 14% to 1.5% and Increased gross profit 18%.

Co-developed the first, flat cathode ray tube "one inch thick". Co-authored the market plan that enabled second round new capital to be secured to assist in continuing the program.

Prepared a successful business plan that secured finding from the CEO for a New Product Development Center. Demonstrated & patented: Active Acoustic Sound Cancellation, Electronic injection of liquid propane, multiple emission control devices plus novel medical instruments.

EXECUTIVE CORPORATE DIRECTOR, DIESEL ENGINE CONTROLS
Created the key technical concept that enabled "Electronic Fuel Injection" of diesel engines. Prepared the strategic marketing plan, secured internal & outside corporate funding ($20 M) for the startup. This successful effort created a new, 150 person, Bendix division, which I headed and a product so successful that it is still currently in world wide production after 20 plus years.

DEPARTMENT DIRECTOR, BENDIX RESEARCH LABORATORIES
Head of Applied Mechanics Department. Lead a team of eighty. Generated a multi vehicle concept demonstration, patenting a new supercharger, analyzed the business & prepared the market plan.

TECHNICAL DIRECTOR, AIR CUSHION RESTRAINTS Allied Signal Corporation. Mt. Clemens, Ml

Patented 26 key automotive air bag restraint systems inventions. Developed a computer model for analysis of both air bag and seat belt occupant protection systems. Lead a full engineering and test team for the development of automotive restraint systems, installing a HYGE test sled.

Prepared and made numerous restraint system presentations re., design and production to automotive industry technical groups and management including CEO's of both Ford and GM.


1964-1969
DIRECTOR, ENGINEERING AND RESEARCH

Directed a team of 35 engineers and designers, Established, a New Product Development Center. Conceived numerous new ordnance products including: gas generators, thrusters, EMI immune ordnance and originated the "Laser Powered, Fiber Optic Ordnance system."

NASA, at Both the Langley Research and Johnson Space Flight Centers
 
Emphasis on: propellant production, ignition and initiator design, nozzle design and internal ballistics. Conceived, fabricated and successfully tested the "Tycho" the highest propellant mass fraction rocket built at that time, also: involved in the design of the, Single Bridge Apollo Standard Initiator, "The worlds most reliable ordnance device" standardized for use on all NASA spacecraft. Plus a very wide variety of ordnance systems.
